BSV, Craig Wright, and COPA case

Hi All,
I’m interested in everyones thoughts on the Wright/COPA BSV case. I’m fairly new to the scene and trying to get a handle on whats going on here and how it might affect BTC’s standing going forward. There seem to be some serious allegations being made and lots of mud in the water.
As near as I can tell, Mr Wright is claiming BTC has diverged substantially from the Satoshi whitepaper and is therefore in violation of copyright by claiming to be “Bitcoin”. What woukd be the result of a ruling in his favour and whats everyibes take on BSV as a likely contender for BTC?
